Singular Focus question

Hello, i have debate with my friend about Singular Focus atlas tree node.

Is Singular Focus work as extra currency maker without any map in favourite map slot or should he have at least 1 map in slot?

if i understand correctly he should, but he said he don't need to.

If you dont have any favorited maps with singular focus then no maps will drop. I cant imagine the currency gains would outweigh the value of the maps since most will be turned into transmute orbs.

Does your friend like map drops because running Singular Focus without any favoured maps turns of map drops entirely which includes all boss and unique maps.

Yes, he will have more currency drops because that is what the keystone does. However, it's going to be basic currency drops with their regular weighting. This makes it a bad idea to spec into Singular Focus just for the currency unless he absolutely loves orbs of transmute.

The entire point of Singular Focus is to sustain a single map. The currency part is a drawback/downside.

in my understanding "Maps found have 200% more chance to be Favoured Maps
Non-Favoured Maps found in your Maps drop as Basic Currency Items instead" mean "no favourite map = no non-favourite map:" and you need to have one selected map if you don't it, the keystone should just turn off map drops or But maybe im just too stupid to understand this correctly ^^

Edit: Ok i think i get it.
this:

and this:

are two different things right?
