The skitter bots text says that it will trigger nearby mines or traps.

Trap triggering and spell triggering are two different mechanics that have similar wording in English. Trap trigger just means activating a trap.

skitterbots' trap triggering and mine detonation are not really useful, you'll almost never notice it. they'll only trigger traps that are already near the enemies, which is basically useless
