Why Ruthless? Correct it to MAPLESS
I like the idea of Ruthless, cos original "soft" mode is so boring to me.
Everything in Ruthless is fine and atleast not very annoying, but one thing: MAPS DROP RATE This breakes the whole game for many people. Making them angry. Annoying. This is absolutely evil in SSF. I just don't want to run white maps indefinitely just get an atlas poit to invest it -- ta-daaaa -- again in maps drop chance/level. And run them again. Whole atlas tree in Ruthless should be alocated in maps in order to sustain drop rate. It is very annoying and forcing players to quit. Boost maps drop rate! So you can actually enjoy different content in game, alocate atlas nodes you enjoy. It's a pain to run again and again low level content just for maps.

Very much so. I mean, POE itself has a lot of issues that should be sorted, but which GGG has a long trackrecord of ignoring, which means it will never be a well-balanced game. But speaking Ruthless especially, the extreme lack of map drops, that prevents you from accessing fairly core content, is one of the many reasons I stopped playing the game. Again. I made a post about it when I dropped out. Fooling around with T2 and T3 maps when I have over 30 points invested, almost every single one in map sustain? Just sheer idiocy.
I loved the scarcity in the campaign, and it made drops more valuable (if you can believe it). But having problems gearing up to stupid OP levels is one thing. Blocking you from accessing the content of the game is another. We're not talking uber end game bosses that only a tiny fraction of the player base will ever face here either. There are much bigger problems with the game itself, but this one is pretty huge for the Ruthless mode. Last edited by Pangaearocks#9280 on Apr 30, 2023, 10:41:18 AM

I played Ruthless last league when it first came out. I loved it over all. The endgame was bad though. I'm sorry to learn that they didn't fix this because it made the endgame boring.

" They stated, that raised maps drop chance in 3.21, but i really don't feel it after 3.20. Even if it's true, it's definitely not enough. It's not even boring -- it's end's game actual END in yellow maps, unless you are playing all your life or/and in a group. SSF just for 0.01% player base (tbh, i think even less), that enjoy spending whole life time in this game. |

Map sustain is something that needs to be figured out. Every league where this was a problem was a miserable experience.
I like the idea of items being scarce in general, but not maps. |

" Exactly right! Maps give you monsters to kill and loot to pick up, without that you don't have much of an ARPG to play. Agreed. I think Ruthless still needs a bit of tuning, there's a few changes that feel more masochistic than ruthless (with Maps progression being the biggest one.)
