Help with exploding totem build dmg seems lacking

Hi,

I am trying the exploding totem poison build, but dmg seems lacking, and since i cant seem to check my dmg on PoB I duno how to improve it

Duno if i should switch to fire instead of poison

My character is in HC crucible name Ynmortal

first glance you probably wanna get increased poison dmg on bow and quiver and a 6L with empower. Withering Step I believe also helps a bit can make that your left click if you wanted.

Other than that you seem to have the right idea.

There is a new feature "On Kill Monster Explosion" is added to your list of skills. We probably need to input the totem life into the "Enemy Corpse Life" in Configuration screen. However beyond that, I can't figure out exactly how to use it either.

I know another way though.

1. Add Ethereal Knives to your skill list.
"Socketed in" - "None". Not sure if totem explosion benefits from any local mods in your weapon or chest but let's assume it doesn't.
"Include in Full DPS" - Check.
"Count" - Number of traps per throw x Number of totems per summon i.e. 5x1=5
"Level" - Set to 1 so the damage from EK has minimal influence on the calculation.

2. Link Ethereal Knives to Trap Support.
"Level" - Match to level of Trap Support used by your totem. This ensures throwing speed is same.

3. In Configuration screen, in Custom Modifiers box, input:
<totem life / 2.2> to <totem life / 2.2> added spell physical damage
For example,
2780 to 2780 added spell physical damage
(Damage Effectiveness of EK is 2.2, which we must invert.)

4. Again on the Custom Modifiers box, invert any added trap and spell damage from gear and passives:
42% reduced trap damage

5. Remove less damage modifier from Trap Support:
6% more trap damage
(Still a little inaccurate but I don't know how to do it better.)

6. Insert crucible mod:
600% more trap damage

7. Remove base crit chance from EK:
-6% to critical strike chance

Your non-prestacked traps DPS is around 1.1 million against guardians but that's assuming all traps trigger, which I believe only saboteur is able to do it consistently without investment to trigger radius. The first throw should also count only 4 totems instead of 5 because of totem limit allowing at least 1 totem to remain.


EDIT: I turned off your Malevolence, Tempest Shield and Herald of Ash because PoB says you don't have enough unreserved mana or life to run those auras and blessings. I assumed you would swap between Herald of Ash and Herald of Agony for mapping and bossing respectively.

I believe unique monsters have a damage reduction phase at the beginning of the fights. Actual amount of damage your deal could be less.
I forgot we need to invert Damage Effectiveness of EK too. Divide that by 2.2.
