Vaal Arctic Armour could be much more versatile with one small change
Outside of very niche uses like surviving Maven's memory game, the long 5 second duration that cannot be cancelled will often lead to your character being killed anyway.
You are basically a sitting duck at the very end of the duration, any queued attacks or abilities from a boss can absolutely kill you instantly due to mobility, the main defense in PoE, being completely stripped from you (even bypassing so called immunities to movement and action speed reduction such as Juggernaut's Unstoppable ascendancy passive). Not to mention any Damage over Time abilities will simply kill you since VAA only mitigates hit damage making the skill even less relevant against certain enemies. There's also the annoying time it takes when used in appropriate cases where only 1 or 2 of the 3 charges is consumed from being hit and so you are forced to wait the entire duration doing nothing. All that needs to be done to fix this is to allow move-cancelling the ability. This will give players a lot of control on timing VAA when it's useful and then immediately get back to moving and dodging enemy abilities. A small time window (perhaps 100-300ms) can prevent move-cancelling immediately after use to make it a bit harder to accidently move-cancel unintentionally. I love Ice Block from WoW and was excited for this concept in PoE but since you cannot cancel VAA like you can cancel abilities in other games it's virtually useless outside of cheesing certain boss mechanics.
