"Skills Cost Life instead of 30% of Mana Cost" Mastery Node
Based on the observation, this mastery is reducing the effect of Total Mana Cost reduction by 30% as well.
For example I have the following cost for my Ice Shot testing: Mastery NOT allocated: (-0 cost): 46 Mana (-7 cost): 39 Mana (-14 cost): 32 Mana Mastery allocated: (-0 cost): 32 Mana, 14 Life (-7 cost): 27 Mana, 14 Life (-14 cost): 22 Mana, 14 Life As you can see, the life cost is consistent despite the mana cost being reduced. In specific, the mana cost is NOT going down by 7 each time, it is instead going down by 7*.7, or ~4.9, rounded to 5. Not sure whether this is intended. But for me "total mana cost" modifier should be applied at last. Last bumped on Apr 28, 2023, 9:15:12 AM

" This doesn't explain why -X to total mana cost modifiers work at 70% effectiveness with this mastery. |

" It does. Life modifiers are not Mana modifiers. |

There seems to be some big misunderstanding here. The problem is not the life cost and the modifiers applied to it (everything is correct here), the problem is the mana cost and the strangeness of applying modifiers to it. Why is the mod "-7 to total mana cost" not fully applied to the total mana cost?

" Yeah I was think of the same. "-X to total mana cost" indicates it's a modifier on total mana cost, which should be after all multiplier applied, whatever increasing or descreasing. |

" Mark's comment is correct, but it's only about the life cost part. And in the example, the life cost remain unchanged without impacted by the -X to total mana cost. I'm more concerned about the mana cost part. |
