Can't Login

I launch POE from steam. game loads. i press login. it connects to login service and then says an unexpected disconnection occurred. I then get a popup saying Steam. Not Connected to steam.
EDIT: I close and relaunch POE and I get the same problem. EDIT 2: Exit steam and relaunched steam. now getting a Steam network error that it couldn't connect to the network. Im guessing this is a steam problem and not a poe problem. EDIT 3: Apparently steam as maintence on tuesdays and thats why its down. Same, Steam does maintenance this day of the week so might be related to that.

If you want to use another launcher, how do you get your steam saved characters to come along? I have charachers if i log in with steam and with my email.
But the ones I leveled are the ones on steam? |

You can then use that email address to log into the standalone client. If you already have an account associated with your email address you will need to change the email address or use a different one when making the connection.
