DPS vs extra Projectile vs Piercing
I found a quiver with 5% more DPS
But it misses the "pierce an additional target" mod from my applied quiver. Im i right to assume that the raw DPS might not the best meassure? And if so, applies the same with an extra Projectile? How do i make the decision what benefits me most, when PoB only weights dps? Im bad at math. Last bumped on Apr 22, 2023, 8:32:46 AM

" Test both options for a few maps and see which one works best. There is no tool that can measure all the variables solve them like an equation and give you the optimal result. POB is pretty much only useful for comparing DPS from several options or for calculating max hit taken and often enough it doesn't even do those things right. For everything else you'll have to rely on your gut feeling. Generally speaking, pierce will give you better clear speed but does nothing for your dps. Additional projectiles can do both depending on the build. |

Baharoth is right. It also depends on the skill you are using. Some skills like Ice Shot or Lightning arrow have aoe effects when hitting a target, which can make the clear even better. I think you have to try it out in maps and look if you prefer the clear or the damage. Maybe you don't even need the pierce of the quiver if you have other sources of pierce/fork/chain on your character.

" Before PoE i trusted my gut feeling. Since than im questioning everything. Jokes aside, my problem is my PC which is so slow that i often play with 30 or less FPS. Often times i dont even now how many arrows i fired before the mob dies. Hart to feel that out. But i think it makes sense to pass on more arrows or piercing since the mob usually dies in a second. (althoug i just ran yellow maps) Im bad at math.

I'd go for extra-projectile every time, unless the dps gain for alternative is massive (>10%). Pierce would be my last priority because it's easy to compensate for it using the passive skills tree.
