Acount unlock email won't send.

I move between a few of my friend's houses, work and home as well. But ever since I first logged into POE on my friend's net I haven't been able to play.


The email does not send, is there a way to get the unlock code other than the email? Or maybe some support who can help me diagnose the problem?

Have you checked in your account on this website to make sure your account is verified? (See if there is a "Resend Verification Email" link in your account next to your name or email address).

Are you using a yahoo email address?

If you have trouble receiving the unlock code, you can email support at the address listed in the Contact Support link at the top of the page from the email attached to the account and they can manually send you a code.

Thanks for the reply. My account is verified, I used to play a ton in closed beta.

And yes, I use Yahoo email. I'll try emailing support and hopefully get a response
There are some known issues with yahoo. Make sure support@grindinggear.com is added to your "allow" list, check your spam folder, etc. Hopefully it should come.

Honestly, my suggest is to switch email providers however; for two reasons. First, gmail is a better provider. They don't block random mails, their spam filter is excellent, and I've always got my unlock emails within seconds of sending them. Secondly and most important I feel is that Google takes security seriously. They offer what they call 2-Step Verification on their accounts which is basically 2-factor authentication. By enabling it, it requires 2 different items to authenticate. One is your password, the other is an unlock code you get on your cell phone app, or SMS text message, or through a call to your cell phone or home phone. They also have an option to print out 10 pre-approved numbers you can keep with you in a wallet or something in case you need to log in somewhere where you might not have your phone with you.

So not only will you get your emails (and quickly), but your email account will be very well protected against hackers gaining access since it requires physical access to a device or code that only you have.

If you want to do this (which I recommend), just create a gmail address, enable the 2-step verification on the account security page, and make sure it all works properly. Once you get the new address up and working, you can contact support through email at the same support address as before, and they can assist you in changing your email over to the new gmail.

I'm not saying you have to give up your yahoo email for personal use, but I would highly recommend using the gmail for game purposes. You might even like it so much that you phase out the yahoo address completely.
