Crucible skill tree-provided support gems and item-provided skills

I have a question that I would need some assistance with...

Does anyone have some certain info about whether support skills provided by crucible skill tree in item also properly apply to the skill provided by the same unique item? If so, please provide some proof as well.

When I was testing this out I did not see the crucible-tree-provided support gem's icon in the skill icon, so was just wondering if this is only a visual bug or something GGG massively screwed over.

Will be testing more of this tomorrow though.
