I need help to figure out how Physical Damage reduction works
Hi everyone,
I am currently trying to figure out where to go next with my Artillery Ballista Champ (Ziz Build basically). PoB: https://pobb.in/KTG6JZ6D3HeL I was clicking around in PoB and noticed that my "Physical Max Hit" is a lot lower than my Elemental Max hit: ~9.7k vs 28.6k. Ele max hit is 2,94 times higher than phys max hit. I have 75% max res and 69% physical damage reduction.From a 100 damage hit, I should take 25 ele damage or 31 physical damage. That is a factor of 1,24. If I go into the Calcs tab in PoB and go to "maximum hit taken", physical damage is calculated with a 0.611 factor, which indicates (to me) that i take roughly 61% of the damage from a physical hit, when it "should" be 31%. Ele res directly reduces damage by 75%, 69% - estimated damage reduction against white monster's default hit.

So basically: armour is less effective against stronger enemies?

" No, you just need to match your armor to the content you are running. You won't be using a white sword you found on twighlight strand in red maps right? With armor it's the same. |

But the white sword will always do the the same damage, no matter what mob I hit. It's not going to kill endgame content, but it still does 5-10 damage, just as it did when I fought Hillok with it.
This does not seem to be the case with armour, as far as I understand now. |
