POE Trade & Price Fixers Suggestion

If someone doesn't respond more than X amount of trade requests & AFK; please remove them from trade search results. Almost all of exalt-divine sellers are bots and price fixers. It's almost impossible to find a real human being.

Thank you.

Sure ..
GGG could also make an account, put a div for sale for 1 chaos and they'll be spammed by bots. Just ban the whole bunch of em
it's bad, currently.
one even had a autorespond like: "if you wanna trade for (worst rate), pm me".

at that moment i laughed until i messaged the whole list with no seller responding. snd if you're polite and give them 20 seconds to respond, that's alot of time.

----

either those players are flooded with requests and ignore them or theee really is a problem with people fucking up prices. i would rather have spent the time playing.

As someone who does many many trades and has been having a extremely difficult time with the trade site this league. Let me answer my viewpoint on a few of these questions.

1 - The trade site is so inconsistent that I've been getting at least 50 messages in a few seconds, then quiet for 5 minutes, then 50 messages, and repeat. There is simply no way to answer them all.

2 - Trading is taking longer because the trade site is pulling old data. For example, I have had many messages of items or prices that I had changed a week ago. So having to verify the correctness of every message takes time and issuing a response takes significantly longer than that. If it has outdated or incorrect info I just skip the message and try to attempt some sort of income with all the other messages.

3 - Even if I do get a message that is correct and issue a party invite, most of the time they will have already either moved on to the next person as most people only wait a second or two before just clicking the next, or simply decline the invite, or even just ignore it until it times out. Then you have others that party up but never come to get their items. Also, the amount of people that have ZERO trade etiquette really messes with things when you have half a dozen people trying to trade at once.

4 - I have zero time for negotiating every item. If it says exact price, it means exact price. If someone doesn't like the price, don't buy it. It's much easier just to kick someone from party than try to haggle when you are dealing with half a dozen other trades at once.

5 - If by chance I do decide to issue a response to someone, the vast majority don't understand a word I'm saying as PoE is very multi-lingual, which is both great and frustrating at the same time.

I know much of this is not the players fault, but more the trade site issues that have been plaguing this league. I think I can safely speak for all traders, we do want your trades, but please be patient. Things are not working the way the should or normally do.

I understand the frustration for the seller as well. However I don't think that when you're AFK you want to be listed on the currency selling list.

As much as 50 people messages you to sell / purchase currency; users are messaging 50 people to find a real human being too.

This must be fixed.
Implement something like that, and watch as the price fixers spams real player competition with 100s of requests to get their items removed from the results...

Whatever you can think of as a 'solution' for this, the price fixers can game to their advantage...

As long as trade requires interactions on both sides there will be price fixers/players/bots that don't respond; it's economics 101.

Even if you would unlist them because of not responding to trades within X time... they would just find a way to work around it.

The only viable fix for that would be that people can buy items & currency without the seller's need to interact with that trade. Sadly it would create a bunch more problems doing so; even collapsing the POE economy.

No matter how or which trade system they come up with; there will always be those that don't play the game, but play the market.

You can almost be certain that the first 100 (or more) trades of any currency item are fixers/bots or players that don't respond - after playing 5 years + I just learned to scroll down a bit and settle for a lower/higher price.

I agree, but if the trade site is currently not updating prices or items adequately, do you expect it to update if a seller applies a /dnd or /afk flag?

As I mentioned in another post, If I put on the /dnd flag, I can't interact with anything. Instead of just disconnecting me from the trade site, which we massively need. We want a way to talk or play with friends or guildmates without being hammered by incoming trade requests. Currently the only way to do this is to remove entire tabs from the trade site and subsequently remove all pricing. I'm not willing to calculate and apply hundreds of new prices every time which would take hours. So I'm forced to just hide my chat whispers and set my notifications volume to zero. Unfortunately that makes me essentially an AFK bot.

Edit: I just checked again. Looks like that aspect has been adjusted or fixed. I can disable the public feature of tabs without the prices resetting. So ignore that part :P

Just use the ignore button on the official trade page. It removes that person's listings. I do it all the time, got 50 pages worth of people on my ignore list now.

That being said, I give exception to people selling currency. The API for bulk items has always been absolutely atrocious, taking ages to update whether the seller even has anything left or not. There's honestly no telling if the person trading chaos/divs is a price fixer or not, and I'm not gonna ignore someone when they could just be a victim of a terribly slow API.

Tell GGG to get the lead out and better optimize their trade API. The game literally lives and dies on maintaining mUh EcOnOmY and having a barely functional trade API isn't doing it any favors.
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!
