Protection Mastery - Damaging/Non-Damaging Ailments protection Not working
Protection Mastery - Damaging/Non-Damaging Ailments cannot be inflicted on you while you already have one
I feel like this mastery is not working at all, I'm getting bled together with poisoned left and right, also got chilled and frozen at the same time. I'm using Call of the Void ring that makes all damage taken chill me. My expectation would be that I basically become immune to non-damaging ailments other than the chill. Maybe the ring is misbehaving or perhaps the wording on the mastery is not correct? Last bumped on May 15, 2023, 10:22:47 AM

I'm experiencing the same thing. Noticed I can be shocked even when i have self chill up. Managed to get a screenshot this time, even tho timers were at 0 by the time it took.
I assume this is not how it's supposed to work, but I could be wrong. Apparently I don't know how to put screenshot in here either. https://imgur.com/gallery/fR9GDgD link works for me, not sure if I did something wrong. Last edited by brndl15#4574 on Apr 25, 2023, 12:24:20 PM

The current behaviour is intended.
If you don't have ailments of that type at the time you're hit, it can inflict them. If it inflicts multiple at the same time, it will do so. | |
" Just to clarify, by "type" you mean either damaging or non-damaging group, right? So if the hit should apply both poison and bleed, or bleed and ignite, it will do so in case you don't have any damaging ailments on you. Same should work for non-damaging group of ailments. Then I'd really like to know how it applies to self-chill build players above, if they are constantly under reverse chill effect, how can they get shocked still? Because it definitely shouldn't be an actual "type", aka "you can be ignited while you don't have ignite on you" - you'd read that mastery as "you cannot have more than 1 poison applied on you" in that case:) Last edited by PraetorianMKII#0349 on May 15, 2023, 2:42:32 AM

" Could you clarify how it works, please? Does it only work with the same ailment you already have? Like if you are poisoned, you can't get a second stack of poison? Only works on those cases but you can still get all the other ailments if you have one on yourself already? Last edited by MtNak#2471 on May 15, 2023, 8:50:56 AM

" The specific behavior they were commenting on was If you have no damaging ailments on you, a hit that would inflict bleed and poison will inflict both, instead of choosing only one to inflict. If you have no non-damaging ailments on you, a hit that would inflict shock, chill, and freeze, will inflict all of them, instead of choosing only one to inflict. " Not that I know the specific mechanics that person was using for self-chill, but...downtime gives a chance. As I understand they can't refresh the chill on them while it's active. When it goes down, there's a chance to be inflicted with other/multiple non-damaging ailments. If it read like "you cannot have more than one non-damaging ailment on you" then they'd be able to easily maintain uptime on the chill though. Instead, we get "You have no non-damaging ailments on you, so you do not have 'Cannot be inflicted with non-damaging ailments' against this attack/spell that will inflict multiple ailments." |
