Widowhail + Voidfletcher not giving increased void charges per second
| Hello, ---Edit: User 'Jadian' has pointed out why the item (might) work as expected and why my assumptions are wrong. You can find our correspondance below. --- Using a Widowhail (+200% increased bonusses gained from quiver) in combination with a Voidfletcher gives you most of the expected benefits. Except that it gives: 200% increased maximum charges and no increased charges per second gained. What I expect the item do to is to read as: 5 maximum void charges (normal) 5 maximum void charges (for 100% increased) 5 maximum void charges (for 200% increased) --For a total of 5 maximum void charges. The wording does not imply that it is additive. Otherwise I expect it read +5 to maximum void charges. Gain a Void Charge every 0.5 seconds (normal) Gain a Void Charge every 0.5 seconds (for 100% increased) Gain a Void Charge every 0.5 seconds (for 200% increased) --For a total of 3 void charges every 0.5 seconds. However, we still only get a single void charge every 0.5 seconds. I question whether this means that "Gain a Void Charge every 0.5 seconds" is not considered a bonus and therefor not increased. Or that the '[...] every 0.5 seconds' is also scaled by the % increase for a total of one charge per (0.5 * 1(1*200%) =) 1.5 seconds. Meaning that we get 3 charges per 1.5 seconds, or simplified 1 charge per 0.5, which is the normal amount. | Dont tell me that you do: Numbers on item * 1(100%+200%) So that the 5 maximum charges becomes 5* 1(100%+200%)= 5* 3 = 15 maximum charges. But because it says 'A charge per 0.5 seconds' it stays a charge because A != 1. Therefor it does not get multiplied. That would honestly be counterintuitive and dissappointing because the charge per 0.5 seconds is a bonus, hence it should be increased. *Edit: removed some salty language that would be a disservice to the devs. Last edited by oOoYngvioOo#1107 on Apr 12, 2023, 6:26:45 AM | |
| If you hold Alt over Voidflecter, you will see this: " I imagine that "Unscalable Value" prevents Widowhail from scaling it. | |
| " That is not it, because the '5 maximum void charges' also counts as an unscalable value. So if the max charges can get modified by Widowhail. than so should the charge generation. | |
| If "5 maximum void charges" were an unscalable value, it would have "Unscalable Value" beside it the same way the "Gain a Void Charge every 0.5 seconds" does. For comparison, The Dancing Dervish has a single modifier providing three unscalable effects: " The maximum charges and charge gain are not both unscalable just because one is unscalable. | |
| Hmm you might be right. That would explain it. I find it to be a very poor design choice as they are both in the same 'modifier group/line'. If they are able to scale seperately then I would expect them to be listed seperately. Though i guess that the reason they list them together is so that the maximum and charge generation show up under the same Modifier. Bit of a shame, as this was the only interaction I wanted to play with this league. | |
