Meteor tower burning ground anoint nerfed?

I noticed that the burning ground created by the "your meteor towers create burning ground for 3 seconds on hit" ring anoint was dealing much less damage than it was in the past. Was the damage nerfed and unreported in the patch notes?

It seems so. Before, total damage of burning ground was compatible to meteor impact damage even if monster came from "fire portal". Bypassed proximity shields too. Now it barely does damage even if monster is not fire-aligned. Swapped ring to double damage from empowering towers.

Naturally there is no need to mention changes like this in patch notes, why bother?

Is there more info on this? Burning ground is really not worth it anymore?
