Prismatic Burst is terrible bad

There is no possible way to fit Prismatic Burst in any functional build due to you need to hit with an attack to trigger a spell that scales damage from different source. Prismatic Burst is also “Prismatic” tag, and for some reason isn't worth to play triple elemental damage with it.

I highly recommend reworking this support gem to a kind of “elemental” melee splash, with no spell scaling, and make the element chosen by Prismatic Burst fits with the element chosen in other prismatic skills, so it can benefit by triple elemental damage builds, or Combat Focus jewel builds.

I'm having a terrible league start…

Battlemage. Not that there is a good way to get battlemage for most classes. That said its hard to scale both attack and spell damage. So for me I chose to do battlemage via Martyr of Innocence and deliver Prismatic Burst w/ Cyclone, having mostly fire damage on chieftain and just trying to scale fire for both. I'm struggling to get a foothold in red maps though as it is.

your best bet is STR stacking and then using The Iron Fortress + iron will + Doon Cuebiyari as your main weapon, that should give you great damage early on but the lack of more multipliers will become a problem later on.

stacking minion damage while using The Scourge should work too


this gem has the same problem cast melee kill has. there is no direct sinergy to scale attacks and spells at the same time.

the problem could be easily solved with something along this lines:

linked supports that apply to main attack also apply to prismatic burst. this means weapon elemental damage support or Pulverise Support can be used to boost both main attack and prismatic burst.

This is every new skill since winter orb. They are terrified that a new skill will be to powerful and people will have fun abusing it... In a couple leagues they will buff it or make changes to it maybe and it will be at least usable.
