Game starts, but freezes on launch screen
|
My game launches just fine, but when I get to the loading screen, with the grinding gears, it freezes. The game is still running, since I can hear my mouse interact with the ui, but I can't see anything, and when I use a controller to try and log in, I do get on one of my characters, but it's all fucked up.
![]() I've got a 2060 super, i5 7600k and 16 gb of ram; not too sure about the rest. I've tried reinstalling multiple times, looking up common solutions (none have worked), going from dx12 to dx11. I've only got 8 hrs, but the game has been playable before, a couple of months ago. I'm about to go insane, bc I have no idea what the problem is. I read that I should maybe switch to Vulkan, but I have no clue how to do so. Last bumped on Apr 6, 2023, 10:09:34 PM

i have this issue too for DX12, and I don't know how to get dx12 to work from that point, but you can revert/change back to dx11 or Vulkan by going to C:\Users\"your windows account name"\Documents\My Games\Path of Exile and in the file called "production_Config.ini" find the line "renderer_type=DirectX12", and you can change that do x11 or Vulkan
EDIT: I thought I'd try using the stand-alone version and it works flawlessly no issues running Vulkan or DX12. so if you weren't already running the stand-alone version, maybe give it a try. Last edited by zakkle3#1149 on Apr 7, 2023, 3:36:30 AM
