SSF*HC*Ruthless Ladder push\League start plans?

Hey guys, anyone ready to endure and have what it takes?

My guess is to start Guardian summoner (again), with absolution and try and get animate weapon. Want to test out the Vaal versions.

Thought about going RF (again) and try RFing at around lvl 30-34 like last ruthless league
Then, thought maybe of going firestorm, but i won't have any supports for it so i'm not sure if it's ruthless-viable at start


Did 3 races in ruthless ssfhc to Brutus kill yestarday, my best was like 20min18sec, cba run further sadly

What ya guys think? Not depending on lucky drops - what's the best option?

I will probably try this one after almost 2 years without PoE.
Loved the game in the early stages, since close beta 2012 to 2015 or so, then became a little meh to me.

So definitely I will give it a try sooner or later.

No idea current builds though, and no idea how to build properly for HC SSF Ruthless. Totems seems useless here? So I will probably try SRS necro or dominating blow-something. Any idea is welcome, fellow true hardcorians.

I won't win or get very far, but I find the mode extremely fun.

'm going Jugg Boneshatter. I don't know how viable it'll be without leap slam to keep up stacks as I'm currently testing it.

My only thought is obviously a 2 hander is better now, but will I be missing some sweet buffs by not using a shield and getting another crucible tree?

Fair warning, melee is a little rough in Ruthless. You'll have to beat the acts with little to no support gems and finding a good weapon is hard. I'm at red maps and this is the best I've found so far in terms of weapons:



I've still not found a 5-link. Self-linking isn't really an option for me as I have:

Not saying melee can't be done, but the path is harder. Moreso than in the base game.

Yeah, I was just thinking of scaling damage with trauma stacks would be a way to get more damage without links and supports, while still being somewhat tanky.

Depends on the challenge rewards.

I played Ruthless when it was released cause I thought there would be less junk items scanning, but it proved to be the same as with normal PoE.

Scanning THOUSANDS of absolutely junk items for useful mods really kills all the fun in PoE.

Then why not make everyone play HC leagues with instant logout? =)
Because there's still a chance of dying, and people don't like taking chances.
Some do, so let's admire that a little bit, just because why not, 90% won't even try that
