Cast when stunned does not proc with 100% chance to avoid interruptions from stuns
Steps to reproduce
1. equip lvl 5 awakened cast while channeling (grants 100% interruption avoidance) 2. equip cast when stunned + any spell 3. channel any skill with cast while channeling 4. Get hit (by enemies...) so you have chances to be stunned 5. Cast when stun never procs until you stop channeling Side note: Cast when stunned does work if you block while channeling, but not without block. This seems to be recently introduced, as here is a video from 3.19 where it used to work: https://youtu.be/jL0Eo0sUh18?t=496 Someone else said that getting % chance to avoid interruption from stuns while casting also does not work with cast when stunned. This is unfortunate as the new stun masteries in 3.21 looked interesting to use. https://www.youtube.com/@esvban Last edited by Horvath#6575 on Apr 4, 2023, 9:27:00 PM Last bumped on Apr 6, 2023, 9:11:39 AM

In that video, the guy has no unreserved mana. Do you also have no unreserved mana? Because recent changes made it so triggered spells cost mana. So if you also have no mana, that's why it doesn't work.

" The video is showing the interaction working in 3.19. And yes I had mana when i tested it. https://www.youtube.com/@esvban

Correction / Bug Identification Improvement:
Confirmed: 1) Self Damage Can not Cause a stun in 3.20. 2) I was also not able to reproduce a "cast while stun effect" while stun interruption avoidance was at 100%. Heartbound Loop Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LT-Dx01T-OY Hiltless Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LRtzUNaFsas Self-inflicted damage can not cause stuns. - Can not self cast even without the Lvl 5 Cast While Channeling Stun Interruption Avoidance Hoping this gets resolved as I built out a character dependent upon this interaction. Self-hits don't count, not a bug.

" <-- Why wouldn't Hiltless count? Enemies are reflecting the damage so it shouldn't be considered a self hit regardless. You'll notice I was also not able to reproduce a "cast when stunned" similar to the OP. |

" I would ignore that guy, he has a history of highly inaccurate not a bug/this doesn't work/etc... posts. |

" Can you delete / edit your post? This is not a bug report about self stunning and you are just confusing people... Stunning yourself with self damage is not possible, but that is not what this bug report is about. https://www.youtube.com/@esvban Last edited by Horvath#6575 on Apr 3, 2023, 12:10:48 AM

This appears to have been a bug given this note they've added last minute in the 3.21 patch notes:
"Added the following section, under Miscellaneous Player Balance: Previously, modifiers providing a "chance to avoid Interruption from Stuns" worked in an unintuitive and inconsistent way. These cancel out a stun entirely, preventing effects that happen when Stunned. However, due to an oversight, they did not do this if you blocked a hit that would stun you. This led to things like Cast when Stunned behaving inconsistently depending on whether you block a hit or not. These modifiers will now also prevent stun-specific effects from blocked hits as well, and will be described as "chance to Ignore Stuns" to more clearly communicate their actual behaviour." It seems that being stunned while avoiding stuns never procced Cast when Stunned, but blocking while avoiding the stun DID work in the past. Unfortunate, but I think that's the answer here. |
