Beyond: No Boss spawns, less/reduced portal merging radius

Here is a concrete idea for a (Beyond) Atlas Passive option.

It's been suggested (and it seems likely, as well as reasonable) that Beyond Bosses ending the Beyond mechanic represents an effort to curtail excessive Beyond rewards. At the same time, some players (including myself) would much prefer that the Beyond mechanic persist throughout maps.

The idea is this: (With sufficient Atlas Passive investment) greatly reduce, or prevent completely the appearance of Beyond Bosses -- with the tradeoff of, say, 50% less or 50% decreased (or whatever is deemed appropriate) Beyond portal merging radius, to reduce creature spawns...and thus mechanic rewards.
