map affixes - monsters xxxx - does it apply to boss?

so if affix states something like monsters are hexproof, does that also apply to the map boss and the associated shaper/guardian if applicable? I assumed it did but apparently i could still hex map boss even with that affix on map.

It does apply if they are on the same map yes, you can hex things that are hexproof and the icon shows up it just gets greyed out as it isn't effective (so you can still use skills that rely on removing hexes to do damage)
