Poe drains laptop battery?
|
Ive been playing poe on this same gaming laptop for years and this is the first time it has happened. i'm plugged in but the battery slowly keeps going down from 100%. so far the lowest was 90% after that i just close the game because i dont want it to go lower. later it charges itself back to 100%
anyone knows whats going on? my laptop cant handle poe anymore? i havent changed any settings etc recently. only change is that i started to play a new build when it started happening Last edited by Lyutsifer665#1671 on Feb 23, 2023, 9:21:34 PM Last bumped on Feb 25, 2023, 6:00:02 AM

It sounds like your laptop’s capable of using more power than is supplied by the charger. If this bothers you, it may be possible to buy a more powerful one. This has nothing to do with PoE tbh.

" but it only happens when i play poe. more specifically juiced maps with deli etc and only started now a few days ago. so this is nothing to be worried about then? |

" Well that's some of the most heavy load maps for your CPU / GPU you can run when playing PoE............ |

" yeah but i have been playing content like this for years without issue...why is it happening now all the sudden? Last edited by Lyutsifer665#1671 on Feb 24, 2023, 11:01:17 AM

" That’s more a commentary of what you do on your PC than anything. " I wouldn’t personally plug in a laptop if it’ll drain more power than it charges. I can’t quantify the effect, but I would worry about the battery’s long-term health. " ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Maybe you bought an MTX and your video card isn’t thrilled about it. Maybe you changed a setting in the game client (or your video card’s software suite). Maybe you’re now running something else in the background while playing. Maybe your antivirus software recently began behaving differently after an update. Maybe GGG changed something in a patch (intentionally or otherwise…). Maybe you were sailing the high seas and the totally legit download contained something else, too. Maybe your video card’s driver updated and now more aggressively ramps up its clock speed in PoE. Maybe you updated your OS (Windows?) and it’s now doing Stuff and Things™ in the background. Maybe a video card driver update changed settings (e.g. enabling Shadowplay / Radeon ReLive). Maybe it’s Maybelline. GGG do not offer first-party Technical Support.
