In Xoph's Domain but no Xoph
bug report reference number 3,892,873,875
First time getting a breachstone. Read up on his attack mechanics on the wiki. Entered Xoph's Domain, triggered the breach, ran north while casting SRS. If i pause, i am engulfed by spawn. Let my minions do battle while i keep an eye out for Clasped Hands. When timer ran out, i was about 80% of the way to the northern terminus. Went back searching for loot. None. Back north assuming portal to boss will be here. Nope. Exited, reentered, no difference. Where is Xoph? Last bumped on Feb 21, 2023, 5:53:00 PM

If you don't kill the mobs fast enough and the timer runs out before you get the portal to the boss area, no boss.
Not a bug. "Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the Universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the Universe is winning."

Thanks for the help, much appreciated.
Where did you find that info? Dev tells me i should search the Gameplay forum and the wiki. I searched both prior to running the map and found no mention of this mechanic. The forums are full of posts about Xoph's Loyal being great as a spectre, and maps not dropping, graphical bugs, builds that can handle breachlords... 100+ matches in the last year. Nothing about the need to kill enough enemies within the time limit or he doesn't appear. The wiki tells you how Xoph fights, good. The entirety of the description of his domain is, "The area has a single breach at the beginning. When you touch it a countdown starts at 25 seconds and runs down until you come close to the arena of the Breachlord Xoph. The countdown goes up by 1 second per kill. " This makes it sound like a race to get to the arena before the timer runs out. Which is how i played it. Which is wrong. Rare map wasted. This is why i can only stand the game for a couple of months before FRUSTRATION IN FINDING THE MECHANICS OF THE GAME MAKES ME SHELVE IT. AGAIN. Researching the mechanics is like getting a Bachelor's degree in a STEM field. Constantly changing. I should know, i already have one. Don't really want to spend that much time on a game. Tricks and tips, builds, strategies, i expect to find on a 3rd party website. Basic mechanics that are coded into the game i expect to find on this official site. Indexed and searchable. |

Poe has always been about players discovering how content works for themselves.
The developers have seldom spoon fed such info. |

The wiki is great for these sorts of things. Always, always, ALWAYS make sure you use the wiki.net and not that fandom crap wiki. The fandom one is riddled with ads and sundry other bullshit as well as being so completely out of date that it isn't even funny.
As the above poster said though, GGG really doesn't tell us how things work, we get to figure it out. https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Breach " The above does change based on what tier breaches you run and can open with 10/15 seconds on the clock. So you can't tell if something is bugged. Clever, very clever.

You killing the monsters in the breach too slowly and not reaching the boss is not a bug.

" No that is not wrong, you just didn't get to the arena before the timer ran out. "An it harm none, do what you will"
