What killed me ? (afterdeath purple thing)

So, I kill a rare mob and after he dies, a purple thing appears and explodes right away dealing massive damage.
Anyone know what it is to google it?
Looks like some sort of diamond and appears only after the rare mob dies, exactly in his place.
Its the third time I die to this thing.
Last time with a jugg, 78-78-79 res, positive chaos res, 600 life regen, 50% chance to block attacks(not using glancing) and thousands and thousands of armour. Have no mitigation for spells other than ele res but still, its a jugg.
I had around 100k ehp (checked on pob) at lvl 68 and died in my first white map with no mods.

Crystalline - modifier on mob

Exploding Crystals when Hit

Fires crystals under Players when they hit you (0.2 second cooldown)
Crystals deal no damage and despawn after 12 seconds
Crystals charge up and explode on death, dealing Fire, Cold, and Lightning damage

Don't stand still, watch out for purple things and run like f*** when you've killed the mob.

Server lag and this are the cause of all my deaths :D - There is very little warning and Melee (People who stand still) are extremely vulnerable.

The purple flowers in Wildwood seem to do ridiculous damage as well.


Some kind of death log would be extremely appreciated.


If you can be one shooted no matter what your build - Well that seems broken to me. :D - If a max build can't survive imagine those that can't get a max build :D

Purple usually means Chaos damage, if your chaos resist is good and you have a lot of hit points then you shouldn't have to worry about them. If you don't, then run! You usually get a second or two warning before it explodes, keep your eyes peeled.
