Bestiary party-play - as a guild activity

Hi GGG,

Not sure if you will actually read this, but i'd like to adress the current state of party play around beasts.

For those that are not GGG and are unaware of the change this league, it is as follows:

Problem:
Bestiary in party-play currently awards a beast to every player when capturing beasts, causing party-play to be the best way to capture specific rare beasts many times over.

Solution:
Additional captures of a beast when playing in a party are now rolled on a per-player basis, with the chance being tied to the quantity bonus granted for playing in a party. The owner of the instance is still guaranteed to receive the captured beast.

I'd like to start of by saying I understand (sort of) the need for nerfing this to counter certain groups that farm these over and over and might or even probably have some ties to some sort of RMT-ing.

The first big nerf to counter that was in (i think) 3.14 when you had to be in a specific radius to capture the beast, opposed to just being present in the map. Still a very logical and good nerf imho.

But the nerf you did now doesnt just hurt those purely farming all the time on a daily basis, it also hurts the one and only strat that actually existed that can be done as a guild activity.

The current copy chance of a beast is so incredibly low that nobody actually wants to do it as a guild activity anymore as it is a pure waste of time.

As an example, i'm a vivid BPL player (played 9 out of 10 BPL's, been in the organisation for 4 of them) and mostly doing the beast capturing and unique farming part.

This BPL I was not the atlas owner, but a group participant and it took 16 hours of non stop target farming to actually get a copy of a Farric Tiger Alpha for any of us in the 6 person group. (We encountered about 8 in that timespan).

I do think that is a bit much of a nerf and I hope you also see that and would be willing to up the copy chance (if you dont want to reverse the change totally) and give this strategy a chance to be a viable guild activity again.

Great and well thought out post.

I totally understand the reasons behind the nerfs to party play. However I now don't run beast rotas with my guild - something that used to be very enjoyable in a game that I normally play solo.

I could be mistaken, but are these nerfs also the reason for the inflated prices of rare beasts this league?

My experience with beasting is it's a fun group activity to do as a big party and something I enjoy doing during BPL. With the recent nerfs, it basically makes it worse to farm beasts anything other than solo. Which is sad, as it was lots of fun to beast rota, and now they don't really happen anymore :(

I have done some party play beasts this league, and it was one of the worst PoE experiences I've had in recent memory. Scraping 6 people together to maybe get a second copy of a valuable beast is a miserable experience.
The two solutions I could see to this are either boost rates for party play (maybe a guaranteed half of players get them, rounded up?) or boost rare beast spawn rates and make it only drop for the map host so we don't have to bother partying up.
The current state of party play around beasts is fine.

Saying that this is the only thing to do in the game as a guild is a huge overstatement.
Current state of beasts is perfect

Tell me, what other guild group play is there that can pick up random people from guild for an evening of fun on comms and group play that doenst need an Empy group level of play to be efficient/worth it to run?
there's this niche league mechanic that was addded in 3.7. it drops unique jewels that I've heard are worth a couple of transmutes every now and then and this league mechanic gives a little bit of exp to lvl gems.

it requires a lot of focus and insane levels of dedication and omegaelevated skillplay tho you can do it only with the 0.000000001% of the playerbase
As someone who almost formed a guild entirely off the back of doing beast rotas to help my fellow guild mates afford 6l uniques and such from a couple of hours gameplay, I do miss this and I hope to see a reversion to the previous state of affairs where-in people had to be near a beast to capture it. I do understand that giving a copy of the beast to the entire instance just encouraged alt accounts and botting, but not allowing active gameplay to be rewarding feels off.
