Maven - The Most Toys

For a long time, there has been next to no incent to run Maven on regular maps at all. This league it was made slightly more appealing with the awakened gems drop and it's something I might consider to not have to deal with altars.

The main issue that's left is the fact that you have to run 10 different maps, and in most leagues there aren't even 10 maps I like the layout off. On top of being able to sustain 10 good maps is next to impossible.

My suggestion is to change atlas passive "The Most Toys". Right now the effect of the atlas passive is a 10% chance that maven may witness an additional map boss. How about changing this to something like "Map bosses in your maps are replaced with a random map boss"? This would make it possible to keep running your favorite maps, have them witnessed for the atlas invitation and bring variety to boss fights without having to run layouts you don't like.

If replacing a map boss with a random one is hard to deal with, another option could be "Maven witnesses a random boss instead". We would still have the same map boss in the map itself, but the invitation would have 10 random ones.

Why not just run guardian/conqueror maps for Maven? Running standard maps is kind of a noob trap, considering it takes 50-100 witnesses to get a single writ, versus the 8 you'd need for the aforementioned bosses.

If you're concerned about profitability, I can assure you as someone farming Elder guardians, I'm making 3x more currency than I'm spending on map sets and invitations purely on Maven's Writs and unID Watcher's Eyes. If I were to factor in essence and lifeforce, it would be a lot more.
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!

i wish they'd just make maven progress work like exarch/eater, where you can run the same map multiple times & still progress it. 10 diff maps is just too much, and you only get like 1-2 splinters from the 10 way fight.

Bigger problem: You miss out on all the bonus mobs Eeater/exarch provide alongside the altar loot.
Unless they add something that can only drop in maven maps she simply has no chance. And no, the once or twice per league woke gem drop does not make it.
Maybe add some new Maven themed currency which allows you to tinker with influenced gear other than eater/exarch influence.

I'm fully aware of that, and I have done the formed, twisted and feared runs probably 100 times this league. That is besides the point. I don't think the regular atlas invitation should be as trash as it is. And by fixing it so you could run your favorite map, it would certainly feel a lot better. I tried it for a little while this league, and I did drop some awakened gems of the regular map bosses. I never did that from shaper or elder guardians.

Splinter stack and general loot from the atlas invitation should probably also get looked into, but I feel like the main issue right now is that it just feels shit to run 10 different maps.

This would solve the 10 different maps issue, the amount of splinters is a separate issue. I do agree that they need to look into that as well though.
