Loot filters for noobs

Hi,

Is there a guide somewhere for loot filters, aimed at noobs? I like to play poe, but I have very limited digital skills. So I just clicked the in-game loot filter button.

The screen however, is still filled with crap. Doing t16 maps is a mess: my screen looks more like an excell file than like a video game.

So I want a better loot filter, but I don't even know how to install that properly and I wouldn't know what is good for me.

I also don't want to "miss" certain items: I'm the guy who picks up orb of transmutions and boots that sell for a chromatic. But I hate to see all the useless magics and rares all the time.

Where can I find very comprehensible info on this topic?

Or can I get advice here?

There is a FAQ which explains stuff
I've used neversink filters when loot filters came out. There is different variants of strickness of them so i recommend checking it too.
The "link to account" thingy or whatever it is called didn't work on me. I'm aware that it puts stuff into the "Documents > My Games > Path of Exile > OnlineFilters" folder, but it just doesn't work for me.

On the other hand, we have the option to download the file and manually place it in "Documents > My Games > Path of Exile". That one works. I didn't even have to click the reload button if I made incremental changes to the same filter file.

Now I'm just waiting for jade flask to finally drop.

this is where all the filters you want to use should be, i dunno what that other folder is, maybe like a storage folder where you can keep a range of filters you dont want to be cluttering your current filter list? no idea.

but any filters you want to be selectable in game should be in the above directory and providing they are a proper filter file will work.
I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)
GGG really should adopt Last Epoch's loot filter system. It's godtier.

or just use filterblade because its goddtier and works alrdy
If you really want to make your own filter, IMO you should use this tool instead of neversink.

I always found the wiki pages on filters quite easy to understand... but then, I do have some programming knowledge.

Then there's this:

and this:
https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Guide:Item_filter_guide

You can also PM me and tell me what your filter should do and we can work on it together.
