Why is shield charge the best movement skill?
It seems a bit off. Every popular twitch stream I tune in to, some player uses shield charge.

going to take a guess and say that it is not(can't cross gaps in terrain, kinda useless at shorter ranges...often keeping you in place), and that the people you are watching are playing in ruthless and it's the only movement skill that is available since it doubles as an attack? (not sure tbh)

Leap Slam is generally better.
Players use Shield Charge if their attack speed isn't great. The downside to both is that you're not immune to anything while using them. Leap Slam, Endurance Charge on Stun, Faster Attacks, Fortify was the go-to 4-link. "Never trust floating women." -Officer Kirac

" 'Most' streamers play caster builds, which leaves Shield Charge as the only spammable movement skill. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

its no where near the best.
in fact no movement skill is the best, they are all situationally the best. |

i can't stand shield charge its so janky and not smooth at all it actually gets me killed more than any other movement skill. "oh there is a pixel of terrain where you clicked to move, so were just gonna play the animation and not have your character move"
however its the best movement for my RF character. |

two types of movement skills:
1) no cd 2) cd Generally the top players use BOTH in a build. Shield Charge is a #1 type that moves the fastest across flat terrain. Players who favorite flatter maps will use shield charge. Biggest drawback is if there are many obstacles, sheild charge DRASTICALLY falls off in utility. It gets stopped by everything and can be a HUGE pain in the ass to use. Because of this, leap slam tends to be the #1 overall category 1 pick for most builds. Category 2 involves blink skills like flame dash. These are super important because they are generally faster and easier to use to juke boss mechanics and telegraphed attacks. They are also used in conjunction with the limitations of category 1 movement skills to cover each other's weaknesses and more reliably move through ALL content. There is no best, there are just some that perform better in certain situations or maps. |
