Wild bristle matron unable to add meta crafting mod

In menagerie tried to beastcraft with Wild Bristle Matron Beast to add a meta crafting mod to a non unique item.
The item is a shaper influenced shield, has 3 suffixes and 1 prefix. From the 2 Suffixes there are 2 crafted mods: "Can have 3 crafted mods" and "Can not change prefixes". Expected behaviour: It should add the Meta mod "Suffixes can not be changed" Actual behaviour: When i try to do the beast craft it says "Item may not have a Mod of this type." I tried 22 times before giving up. Reasoning why i expect the behaviour - The item is non unique - The item is not corrupted/mirrored - The item has 2 open prefixes - The item has only 2 crafted mods and can have 3 (due to meta mod) I assume the error is as the item already has the mod "Prefixes can not be changed" that the craft fails. As the beast recipe states "add a mod" it should not prevent adding mods, only changing them (checking on crafting bench it seemed as i could craft Suffix can not be changed). I think the Beast Recipe might be coded in a way that it tries to change the item, instead of adding. Item I tried it with: Copy/Paste of item description:
