Recent disconnection issues with Starlink
Hello,
I was hoping someone could shed some light on a recent problem I've ran across: I've been playing Path for 2years now on Starlink and unless I lose connection from the Starlink service, I've not really had an issue staying connected to Path servers - until about 2 days ago. Now, I am experiencing a disconnection constantly (anywhere from 3-8x/hr - never online for more than 30mins without getting a disconnect). When I reconnect, one of two things happen: it reconnects, but pauses on authenticating user and then logs in successfully, or it flags it as being logged in from a new location and requires me to reenter my password. I have confirmed that my WAN and local IP do not change during these disconnects and I don't get prompted for my 2FA email code either. At first I thought my account might be compromised (so I changed password), but I was able to be connected all day at work on a different ISP. I am not running a VPN, nor have I installed any new programs or changed network settings. I have restarted my Starlink service multiple times and router as well. None of my other connections or services are interrupted, so I believe that something on the server side of the Path servers are triggering this. Anyone with some insight would be greatly appreciated. Last bumped on Jan 20, 2023, 4:33:30 AM

I am having the exact same issue, and use Starlink as well. I get logged out, then when i try to log back in, it tells me to re-enter my password because I'm logging in from a new location.
Very Frustrating. The problem you described is the exact same as mine. For reference, I am on the east coat of U.S. and typically am using the Starlink Atlanta server. |

Using a VPN fixed the issue temporarily FYI. Give it a try.
Edit** : Whatever the issue was, appears to have solved itself as of today. Since a VPN was a temporary fix, I have to assume Starlink was doing some internal gateway shuffling that was triggering this along the data routing. Last edited by Gromrok#0159 on Jan 10, 2023, 4:45:46 PM

I'm bringing this back to the main page because it has been happening ALOT again.
It has even started locking my account, telling me "I attempted to log in from a new location", I AM NOT LOGGING IN FROM A NEW LOCATION!!. I am however using Starlink and the satellite does redirect, change servers and what-not. Please find some way to where Starlink users aren't constantly kicked offline and having their accounts locked due to something completely out of thei control VERY frustrating |

" Well if your active connection is suddenly rerouted / getting a new IP, then all session on the old route/IP will crash. This is 100% to be expected. If Starlink really does this to the customers active sessions, then this is something you will need to talk to them about. However in regards to the "account lock" when IP change is happening, then you can e-mail GGG support directly and ask them to disable this account feuture on your account. |
