Betrayal encounter instantly abandoned

I was creating new instances in Act 9 - Foothills to set up my betrayal and everything was working fine. I did a couple of encounters already but suddenly in one instance the betrayal was instantly abandoned. I did not even have the time to enter the research encounter. As soon as I joined the instance the quest was abandoned. Check the following screenshots for the encounter and the current betrayal setup.





EDIT:

I was able to reproduce this issue. Sadly I still can't figure out what exactly causes it. Maybe there's a problem with too many instances being open? It also doesn't happen on every encounter and also not on every research encounter. But so far it only happened on research encounters and not on any other types.





EDIT 2:

It happened again but this time on a fortification encounter. I am pretty sure that it's not related to the betrayal setup either as I found a research encounter right after the second research encounter got abandoned. Therefore it had the same betrayal setup and still worked. I also didn't have a lot of instances open this time as I just did a safehouse and all instances were cleared.





EDIT 3:

It happened again on a fortification encounter. I'll refrain from posting more screenshots to save space. Maybe it's related to the current imprisonments? I only have fortification imprisonments right now. Will investigate further.

EDIT 4:

I thought I narrowed it down to happening on the first encounter after imprisonment of a member of the same safehouse but I did it once more and the bug didn't happen.

Same thing is happening to me currently in the Gauntlet league.
