why scarabs consumed but not used

maps started to consume the scarab i put in the map device, but it's not active in the map. It doesn't even appear at map mods "area contains an additional x".

i tried different scarabs, abyss, divination, metamorph, but none are active in the maps even though they are consumed.
i tried different maps, alleyways, arcade, underground sea occupied by elder mini boss, vaal temple, but none receive the scarab effect even though they consume it.

atlas passives are working, i do get for example an essence and a harbinger every of those maps, but if i put a metamorph scarab for example it consumes it but the map has no metamorph encounter.

no i don't have the "stream of consciousness" keystone active, and even if i did it shouldn't've consumed my scarab.
all this happened since i activated the "wealth of knowledge" notable but i took it down after i noticed the problem and the problem still persists.

why is this happening? already lost a lot of maps and scarabs just trying to figure it out.

ok wow that's correct. How did i miss that "instead" word so badly.

i had this node since it was added, it's weird that i didn't notice my scarabs not working.
When i put a metamorph scarab for example i did get metamorph encounter but i guess it just procced the default chance and not from scarab, and i didn't notice at that time.
