Defeated Searing Exarch with Searing Rune debuff but no challenge point

I defeated the Searing Exarch while I had the Searing Rune debuff on me but it says I failed the challenge. This was the quest version and I did step off the rune but was well within the 10 seconds of debuff when he died if this matters.

" There are 2 debuffs. One while you standing on it and one that persist for 10 seconds after you step of the rune. The one you need is the one that you have WHILE standing on the rune. So basically you have to stand on the rune while he dies. |

now that's what I call garbage game design... get rekt melee... wasted money on my aura stacker cuz there are 2 debuffs that have same icon...
