[solved] Input is cutting out
|
I have this weird bug where a majority of the time that I launch PoE I'll have really crackly audio and it causes my input (mouse/keyboard) to not work every so often.
What's weird, it's less prevalent when I record the screen in order to show the bug. The crackling audio doesn't come through on the recording either, but you can clearly see that as I move my mouse, every once in a while it will completely lose input from my mouse for a few seconds. This also happens to my keyboard but they happen independently of each other, so the mouse could be working but the keyboard won't, and visa versa. Other times I launch the game, the audio is fine and I don't have any issues. I've updated my graphics drivers to the latest version (which I thought fixed the issue because it stopped happening two days ago after I did that, however, it's back). Audio drivers were updated and there was no change. ![]() Imgur killed the quality, here is the youtube link as well. https://youtu.be/vVVDeAwgr04 Yesterday I verified game files on steam and it stopped happening, but today it's happening again. I can't pin down any root cause and it's quite frustrating since the game is completely unplayable like this. Any suggestions on how I can better debug what's going on? I'm going to install the client off of the website and try that in the meantime Last edited by Suzamaki#4845 on Dec 23, 2022, 3:09:00 PM Last bumped on Dec 23, 2022, 3:08:46 PM

No issues with the non-steam client so far. Maybe my steam install is just corrupted in some way, even though validating files didn't say anything was wrong?

Re-installed it on steam and it was worse. Alt+f4 wouldn't work and I had to use task manager with my keyboard to kill the game. Then I had to unplug and re-plug my mouse back in to get it to start working again. No idea what is up with the steam client but it's completely bricked for me.

Turns out it was my Focusrite Scarlett Solo audio interface. No idea why but using a different audio source works fine.
