Lots of crashing since 3.20

Hello!

Ever since the new league and patch, PoE has been crashing a LOT for me.It occurs most often when I'm trying to enter a new area (or tab out) so I suspect it has to do with some asset loading/unloading, probably a memory leak or the game trying to interfere with memory its not supposed to and the OS shuts it down.

Some additional info:

- I updated my graphics driver on sunday to the latest game ready nvidia driver
- I've tried all 3 renderers. Vulkan seemed like the most stable but its not without problems.
- Crashing is also prone to happen when tabbing out.
- With Vulkan, I get this "flashing screen" every now and then like it was crashing but it usually doesn't and returns to normal (or my firefox tab dies instead)
- All 3 renderers mess with my Firefox that is running in the background, occasionally causing the current page tab to crash (youtube / your trade site). This is most frequent with dx12.
- OS is windows 10/64bit, game is installed on a HDD. Tried on my SSD too but same thing. Using the steam client version.
- Game was freshly not long before the 3.20 launch. Did a bit of practice for the league start a few days prior and it was fine then.
- One of the latest crashes had this exception caught by the OS:

- Sent an email with DxDiag/crashlog/minidump files to techsupport but was told to come here instead

Update2: I managed to isolate part the problem. Its Discord. If I have it running in the background, it produces all sorts of crashes for the game/makes it hitch even. Closed it and the game's been running a lot smoother with a lot less frequent crashes.

*UPDATE*

I tried to make a few changes known to reduce game crashing. Credit goes to Dias75 on youtube.

1) Verify the integrity of you files by going into you POE properties via Steam.
2)Change network mode to Predictive in the options menu on the Game login
screen.
3) Run the game as administrator
4)Turn Vsync and Engine Multithreading to Disabled.
5)Update graphics card drivers if you haven't already.


Doing this seems to have fixed my issues with crashes when loading new instances faster and cleaner.

I can tab in and out rapidly when in a discord VC and it does it with no issues whatsoever.

Try it out and let us know if it worked!

My brother and I both have been having this problem. Especially with tabbing out. It crashes 2/3 times for me. I will try to use the game without discord and see how that goes.

When I enter a new zone a whole bunch of elements aren't loaded yet and some never do on occasion. I've never had this problem before. My set-up hasn't changed in 6 years and I have been playing on and off during this time. Never had any of these issues before.

Please fix this!

same here, mostly crashes to desktop without any error message. but times i got messages like "failed to uncompress [any data]" and ive to altF4 the game.

I've got many crashes while eater altars are spawning
After every crash my char is dead ;/

This has been the most unstable league since Heist for me personally. My setup literally hasn't changed since last league and that ran perfectly fine, now I can barely get through more than a couple of zones without PoE freezing my entire computer so I can't even check if my CPU usage or temps are spiking when it happens, I'm forced to just turn it off with the power button.

I've tried every single suggested fix from the official troubleshooting thread and they've all done absolutely nothing. Games with significantly more demanding graphics - namely Warframe, Destiny 2, Guild Wars 2 and Prey - all run smooth as butter on high settings, while PoE struggles to run for more than an hour at a time on a good day with everything on low.

Utterly embarrassing. Wasted money on a supporter pack and wasted energy getting excited for the league to fix everything that went wrong in Kalandra.

Had this same thing happen to me when doing Labs. PC just locked up on me and had to manually power it off. Only happened to me once though a few days ago, every driver is up to date since its a new built pc and stress tested all the hardware and temps/scores all look normal. (5600, 6650xt, win11)

Turning off Vsync actually makes my Ryzen 5 56oog run HOTTER. I have every setting turned down or off, used Dirextx 11, 12, and Vulkan, still freezes and more often logs me out. I'm also running a GTX 3060 (NOT ti).

Ran smooth before the 3.20b update. Not it's practically UNPLAYABLE.

Well when you turn vsync off then you need to use the ingame FPS limiter or else the FPS will run to MAX for your monitor, so that 100% explains that.

I've just install the game. I have same experience. Sometimes when I tab to windows or load new location Im getting crash. Is there any solution?
