Battlemage - "Added Damage" Questions

"battlemage": adds spell dmg equal to main hand weapon dmg.

now this would (almost?) always be phys. dmg, right?

to what extend, if any, do weapon mods apply?
if the weapon has a "% increased phys dmg" (i.e. local) mod, would that count?
what about added flat phys dmg? added flat elemental dmg?

and if the 'added dmg' were indeed phys dmg, and I'm casting a spell doing cold dmg, would the result be a spell that does both phys & cold dmg?

tyty :-)

all added damage to attack mods on weapons are local, so these would be included for battlemage.
Let say your weapon does 100 Flat physical damage (Whiteout mod)
It then got as mod
- 100 Flat physical damage
- 100% Physical damage
- 50 Fire damage.

The total of that is your weapon does
-(100+100) (100%"Base"+100%"Added") + 50 Fire damage=
- 200*200% + 50 Fire damage
= 400 Flat physical damage and 50 Flat fire damage

Those number are the raw amount of damage that battlemage give you.

You then multiple those number by the added damage effectiveness
----------------------------------------------------------

For exemple taking previous explanation : Take a spell that does 300 Cold damage and have 200% added damage.

You spell will do: 300 cold + (400 physical + 50 Fire)(200%)

Total : 300 Cold, 800Physical, 100Fire damage. If nothing else affect it.
thanks a lot everyone! (and especially for the thoughtful, detailed, and very clear response with the examples :-)
