Every post-league patch muddles up game client video settings
I don't know if it's a post-league reset or what, but every league I've played in the past year or so has this one cool trick where the end-of-league-final-patch-before-next-league breaks video settings on first load. As this has happened multiple times, it seems to be a specific bug. I play with a resolution smaller (1920x1080) than my actual (main) display (3840x2160) and have two monitors (monitor #2 is 2560x1440).
What I expect: the end-of-league patch shouldn't mess up the video settings. What happens: Patch applies, game loads with a truncated "windowed" mode, off-center and with no window bars to move the window. It looks like the bug may be where on load it is using the full width of both displays to determine where to place the 0,0 corner of the game client, instead of just playing it at 0,0 of the primary display, but still applying the "windowed fullscreen" at the wrong offset. ![]() If I quit the client then reload again, it's fine. end of league patches include technical updates, done before league launch so they have time to fix issues with league patch.
so that is why its likely messing up your video settings. |
