3.20 Sanctum Relic/Altar Deep Dive Questions - First Pass
Apologies in advance if I've missed the answers to some of these elsewhere but it would be great to understand some mechanics of the upcoming leagues, specific to the Relics and Altar.
(01) The question is moot. Relic Locker is the extra/overflow Relic league stash and either will or won't be accessible from Sanctum, if not: better keep some bag space free! (02) There will be a Relic Locker and Sanctum Altar. (03) The Sanctum Altar is per character but your Relic Locker is shared between your characters in the same league. (04) TBD, most likely level req of mods will be available post-patch on PoeDB 05 Is the Sanctum Altar accessible from outside of the Sanctum (similar to the Expedition locker, from hideout/town)? (06) The Relic Locker will exist and be similar to the Expedition Locker 07 Will Relic affix rules follow mod rules similar to base jewel affix rules (up to 2 prefix, 2 suffix on a rare)? (08) Sanctified Relics should only have mods that affect your character, where Templar Relics affect the Sanctum [393s] 09 How many implicits can Relics drop with? 10 Does the area level of the Sanctum (if that is variable) or the depth of the Sanctum room influence the possible implicit (and other) rolls on Sanctified Relics (harder content = more desired implicits?) or are possible Relic mod rolls based on character level + character quant/rarity or what? 11 Will there be unique Relics? (12) Sanctified Relic tooltip says Relics must be placed in Altar to affect character 13 If Relics are only active by way of the Altar, does this mean to maximize a Sanctum run, I will want to use up inventory space with alternative Sanctified Relics to swap around depending on the room encountered? (yuck) 15 For craftable Relics (assuming there will be both un-mod and mod-able Relics), will all item crafting currencies work with the Relics (ex: Vaal Orb, Fracturing Orb, Mirror of Kalandra, etc)? 16 If player-corruptable, is there a list of corrupt implicits available for Relics? 17 It looks like Atlas notables or keystones may show up as implicits on Sanctified relics. Will corrupting a Relic potentially remove/replace existing implicit(s)? Are these only available on corrupted Sanctified Relics? (14,15,16,17) Relics cannot be crafted, full stop. There can be reward rooms in the Sanctum that will allow Sanctified Relics to be modified. (18) From Forbidden Sanctum FAQ: ..the benefits of Sanctified Relics affect you everywhere. 19 Do Relics always drop identified? 20 Will the item filter/label API allow for filtering of any/all mods on Relics? (21) Fish don't have necks like ours. Instead, they have bones that include a vertebral column, cranium, jaw, ribs, and other bones. This makes it quite a challenge for a fish to identify as a Templar. 22 If so, is it true that when equipping a the Angler's Sanctum Sanctified Templar Relic, will it cause all fish caught to have extended pectoral girdles to further the distance between the gills and the skull? 23 Can Relics be vendored? 24 Once unmodifiable Relics start to pile up, do relics have a 3-for-1 vendor recipe or is the intent for undesired Relics to be deleted/vendored? 02: The Altar and League Stash are separate things. Timestamp 5:45, "You can store your extra Relics in the Relic Locker, a free storage space like the Expedition Locker." 08: Templar Relics and Sanctified Relics should not have the same mod pool. Modifiers that only make sense in the Sanctum would make little sense to have active outside the Sanctum. 09: Relics likely always drop with 0 implicits, unless they can drop corrupted. 12: The tooltip info for them says that they must be placed on the Relic Altar to affect your character. 14: Relics cannot be crafted via the usual methods. There was mention that you may find rooms where you can modify Sanctified Relics. Timestamp 5:35, "Relics cannot be crafted and cannot be traded, as they represent your personal progression throughout the league." Timestamp 6:42, "While [Sanctified Relics] can't be crafted through conventional means, you may find special reward rooms in the Sanctum that can modify them." 16: A list will likely be available on PoEDB not long after the league goes live. 17: I am assuming that implicits will only be available on corrupted Relics. |

" Ace! I'm re-watching now and striking through the questions. I misheard the bit around modifying Sanctified Relics when I first watched and thought Chris said all relics were modable. Oof!
