Is there any way to turn a unique into a rare without corrupting it?

I've got an ilvl 100 unique I wanted to use as a crafting base; but now I realized I can't use scourings on it. I've looked around and I can't find much on the topic. Using a vaal orb only has a chance, and it'd corrupt so that I couldn't do much else to modify it (at least not that I have the materials for).

nope, its uniq forever.
however, ilvl 86 and ilvl 100 are functionally the same. there is nothing gained by using an ilvl 100 item as a crafting base. |

double corrupt and regular vaal both have 1/4 chance of making it rare.
his characters are hidden, but the one we can preview is SSF. good luck getting FIVE ilvl 100 rare bricks of the same base, just to do the vendor recipe. |
