It means DoT can also? Here's the thing, it says:

1. Hits always ignite
2. All damage can ignite

Why is formulated "damage" and simply not saying again "All hits can ignite". Sounds like it overrites the DoT's inability to ignite. Cause it's "damage".

If you look on the fandom page, it says, indeed, in the node's description that "All damage with Hits can ignite". But if you go into the game, it says only "All damage can ignite"

Do I miss anything?

It implies 100% ignite chance with any damage type on hits.

2) ONLY hits can cause ailments. ignite is an ailment. it doesnt need to say 'all damage with hits can ignite', because ONLY hits can ignite. hence 'all damage can ignite' is fine.

"All damage" means that all types of damage can ignite. ie Lightning,Cold,Physical and Chaos in addition of fire damage that is the only type that normally can ignite.

Would be nice if the 3.22 changes to Ruthless would be more wider documented.

the "hits always ignite" was removed from Elementalist in Ruthless in 3.22.

Therefore you have to get Ignite chance from elsewhere - thusforth - in my opinion ruining the point of Elementalist for many builds :D

only hits can ignite anyway, so there's no difference

"all hits can ignite" would make no sense, because all hits can already ignite as long as you have some fire damage in the hit. all damage can ignite implies that you can ignite with all damage types and not just fire damage, and the other mod ensures that all your hits always ignite regardless of the damage type
