Ruthless Rogue Exiles
Given the item rarity in Ruthless I was wondering about Rogue Exiles and their drops. Will they still drop one item per slot and if so will Rogues just be rarer?

Really? That's sad. I am sure they were already somewhat neutered by the time I quit but overall my memory of rogue exiles is heftily spiked with terror. Magnus and his chunky flameblasts -- ugh.
I also remember an early Rogue Exiles Everywhere event. That was a lot of fun until, if you lasted long enough, their generous bounty made facing them fairly trivial. Still, fun little pseudo-Battle Royale mode all in all. I imagine they will be either super rare in Ruthless or nerfed to hell but still comparable to your own nerfed to hell self. This is, I think, part of what will make Rithless difficult for some Exiles to really appreciate: it appears to be an attempt at obliterating the power creep across the board. Not just the Exile's movement skills or godly gear, but hopefully the enemies' necessary response to that. This isn't a chicken/egg situation; we know for the most part which came first between Exile power creep and enemy overtuning, since GGG were far more reactive in those earlier days. Perhaps I am reading too much into the very deliberate choice of name here. Maybe Ruthless will only pay some vague lip service to the nature of PoE before it got out of hand. But if so, that's on GGG for choosing that name and for explicitly invoking what the game was like back when it had desync. Which, to bring this back around, was definitely the era that gave us one of the earliest leagues, Anarchy, and one of the earliest league additions to the game: Rogue Exiles. Along with Ambush and Domination, I consider these three early softcore leagues probably the most significant in terms of adding meaningful content to the game entire. They just fit right into the core game -- possibly because the core game back then had room for such tweaks. So I think when it comes to which past league features you will see in Ruthless, it's a fair guess that most of the older, fundamental ones will be enabled in some way while the newer, overly ambitious ones that align with a PoE much more affected by feature bloat and power creep should be less of a priority. Considering one of the points of ruthless was you might not even have 2 common Rarity rings by act 4, my money is on their drops nerfed. Rarer too by virtue of all league content being more rare.
