Path of Building Mark Comparison

I wanted to see which mark creates more damage for my bow build, Assassins Mark or Snipers Mark. So I loaded each one into Path of Building and here's how they came out:

Assassins Mark: 393,728 dps

Snipers Mark: 414,449 dps

But a couple things look weird, I didn't see anywhere in Path of Building where it accounts for Power Charges. Assassin's Mark will give me three power charges which raises the damage. It also doesn't mention the Diamond flask I am using, I don't know if the flask would scale differently when using Assassin's compared to Sniper's Mark.

for charges you need to open config and click I use X charge(it will default to your max # of that charge, or you can manually give yourself a reduced quantity), note that minimum charges are always calculated.

as for the flask you can enable and disable them(just check the box next to the flask), they are only always enabled if you have mageblood equipped in the POB I believe(to lazy to confirm)

When I check the box 'Do you use Power Charges?' it raises the dps to 442k. For the flasks, there is a box that says 'Do you have a Flask active? When I check it then it goes up to 460k dps, but it doesn't say which flask it's talking about.

I guess Assassin's Mark gives you better damage but it's still kind of vague.

Then I replaced my Faster Attacks support with a Barrage support and I get the exact same dps 393,728, it even shows Barrage in the skill chain. I question how well Path of Building works at all, I never thought it was very accurate when it first came out and it still looks that way...

PoB is quite accurate except in some fringe cases, usually regarding newer mechanics they haven't implemented fully/properly yet or sometimes with some complex interactions.

I imported your "solduc" character into PoB, and it's working fine for me. Without changing anything else, swapping out your current Barrage for Faster Attacks definitely shows a reduction to DPS as expected. Ticking other things relevant to the build on/off/etc in various combinations all make appropriate changes as expected as well.

Seems like you're suffering from either something wrong with your PoB install or some kind of user error on your part.

Definitely user error. How did you replace the Barrage with Faster Attacks in Path of Building? I did it by swapping them in the game then reloading it into Path of Building

On the "Skills" page. Just click on Lightning Arrow in the Socket Groups, and you can easily change all your supports for it there.

I see. Still weird though, when I select Barrage the dps raises to 400k when I select Faster Attacks in place of it then it goes down to 341k. I don't know why I had 393k before.

Honestly it seems like you don't really know what you're doing in PoB, and that would explain a lot... :D

Well that settles it then, PoB must work pretty good.
