How many golem types to use
I'm currently running a golem focused elementalist. I'm pondering how many different golem types to use; while there is great value in getting the auras from all the golems, if I have several different golems than I can't afford to have each of them supported by a full set of gems, there simply are'nt enough slots for that. Plus I need a few gem spaces for auras and utility; and it seems like it's worthwhile to have some ghouls/spectres as well.
Right now I'm using just one golem type because the bonuses from the unique golem hammer favor it; though that benefit will diminish as I level into maps. So I'm wondering how often do people use multiples of the same golem type for the better gem slot efficiency, even though it means getting fewer of the auras stacking? Note that I haven't setup my gems fully yet; I know I have some empty slots and stuff I'm not using; this is more about planning for the future needs. Once I can support 5 golems, there's simply no way to give them all a full set of support gems AND cover other stuff well. Last bumped on Nov 25, 2022, 8:50:49 AM

as an elementalist... you don't give more than feeding frenzy/elemental army(for exposure if doing conversion... or elemental golems) as support gems, and you only need 1-2 other golems having that.
just make sure you always have at least a stone and chaos golem, I like lightning golems to give a ton of cast speed for the things that need it, no need for other support golems... unless you are doing other minions to than a carrion will be needed. |

I want to try a build where I summon 5 golems; fire ,ice, lightning, stone, chaos golem. And then stack priordial harmony, which gives x% dmg boost per golem type. I also want to be doing some dmg myself with something like discharge. Is it possible ?

I guess you should test yourself, or at least make a PoB. I tried in Heist 5 golem types with 7(?) primordial harmony jewels, and the clear speed was kinda' lacking with only 3 dps golems. Boss dps wasn't stellar either.
I played Kay's carrion golemancer in 3.17, and it felt a lot stronger then the 5 golem types golemancer from Heist. At least now elementalist has the auto-revive ascendancy, it surely adds a lot of QoL. |

" I really wouldn't try to do a golem and player DPS build, for golem damage you need to invest heavily into their unique jewels(whhich ones you need depend on golem type), better off just doing 4 golems(base 1, 2 ascendancy, 1 passive tree) for low investment and doing DPS yourself, or going all in on golems/minions. |

you dont support golem gems in a build where golems are only there for their utility
I'm playing a trapper elementalist build with 5 different golems, i.e. all except carrion, and 4 auras (determination, grace, haste, wrath), killed most ubers with it and it's very tanky, you can check my setup "buff grenades"

" I am new to poe, how do I check your setup. Also I want to try 5 different golems since primordial harmony , gives x% dmg boost to your golem per golem type. |

primordial harmony gives damage to your golems, not you. hence it's not used in elemancer builds
