Fire trap isn't using support gems 658,327,676

I tried setting up a fire trap gem but none of the supports that the shop says work actually applied. I tried lifetap, added fire damage, and iron will and none of them increased dps or had the little letter show up in the skill. I can't think of why it wouldn't work as I used fire trap just fine last league.
