Doryani's Incoming Lightning Damage

I have roughly 35k armour without flasks, 80k armour with flasks. I still find myself getting one-shot from -maxres, ele weakness curse with lightning damage mods. Conversely, I have 76 cold and fire res, and I can deal with fire/cold damage mods fine.

How exactly could I build my character to defend against lightning, or am I missing something here?

You can get an amulet with an implicit "take x% of lightning damage as cold" or fire.

You can also get a corrupted keystone that you take 50% of ele damage as chaos. Obviously you want capped chaos.

Divine Flesh (from Glorious Vanity) gives All Damage taken bypasses Energy Shield, 50% of Elemental Damage taken as Chaos Damage, +5% to maximum Chaos Resistance.
(looks like this wont work great with your shield, you could skip this or get %life on block perhaps).

With those combined you almost ignore lightning damage. Or you can get more armour.

I believe if you use either one, the armour you do have will feel a lot better. Armour applies on an exponential (or is it logarithmic) scale, meaning it has more impact the smaller the hit is, little impact on large hits.

So when you reduce the damage incoming by half, armour has more effect.

At the moment, I'm using an Astramentis for my build. So, perhaps I need to craft a crazy amulet to do this. I'm already CI, so taking chaos damage doesn't matter too much. But I can't lose my Tribal Fury anointment, I'm Lightning Strike.

Everything bypasses ES though, so wont work.

There have been some sold where you can keep tribal, but not many, even over the whole league

The -max and EleWeak mods might not hurt you at all, but since Doryani's effectively holds your lightning res at 0% (the default value), the extra lightning damage is 4x as effective , vs. added cold or fire. (Just in case there was some confusion.)

Just use a tainted oil to reapply Tribal Fury on the new amulet if you need it. No need to buy one that already has it annointed.
