polaric void is rough

having trouble predicting whree the damage will come from
not a lot of experince with the fight yet but... wow lotta aoe.
not sure where to hide. also not my instinct to hide.

if not as bd as I think any players have advice?
looks like 100% random aoe dps all day long. I must be wrong.

I tend to avoid Solar Storm and Astral Avalanche by moving quickly into the opposite region - cold for Solar Storm and fire for Astral Avalanche. The stacking effects for being in those areas should greatly reduce the damage dealt (possibly nullifying it altogether). Another critical thing is to be immune or greatly resistant to being frozen. Inability to move in the Polaric Void is deadly.

Another thing that you can try is to hide behind the pillars to avoid Solar Storm and Astral Avalanche. If you do this, stay in the region that matches the effect (fire for Solar Storm, cold for Astral Avalanche). You need to carefully note the direction of the attacks if you want to try this method, and I find it riskier than the first option.

There are several methods for the fight.

The arena is split into 2 regions, one for cold, one for fire. While you are in the fire region you get a buff that gives you less cold damage taken and more fire damage taken. Cold region is vice versa. Pillars in the cold region do not get destroyed by cold attacks but break from fire attacks. Fire region is the opposite. That's the fundamental you need to be aware of.

Now how to use that?

1) Try to not accumulate to many buffs of one kind by always moving back and forth between the regions. If you are mostly neutral to both types and have decent defenses you should be able to tank pretty much anything in the fight.

2) Against Solar Storm and Astral Avalanche you have two options.

2a) When they go off, hide behind a Pillar in the same region, this is more effective for Astral Avalanche though since Solar Storm is moving. Take care to pick a pillar that won't leave it's zone for the duration of the attack, otherwise you'll find yourself without cover in the middle.

2b) Use the buffs to get high resistance to the attack in question. I.e if she announces Astral Avalanche, go to the fire region and accumulate fire buffs before the attack hit's fully. That should allow you to survive it. For this it's fairly important to utilize 1) properly because if you have like 10 cold buffs by the time Astral Avalance get's triggered, you won't be able to gather enough fire buffs in time.

Imo the main thing in the fight is making it through the avalanche. The other attacks aren't that dangerous unless you are really squishy or have a bunch of map mods. Dodging the avalanche isn't really possible, it's basically a arena wide AOE with random point's of impact, you never know where and how hard you'll get hit based on the animation.
