Forking river boss overtuned as hell

Dude one shot a RF jugg through molten shell.

I think with even the most mundane of mods he becomes a pinnacle boss basically. God forbid if he has an altar or is possessed.

This feels bad.

for melee hes quite a challenge.

water everywhere.

you need to be able to tank everything except

1. huge ass waterbomb (gtfo at the last second)
2. his targeted water shot phase (just round around)

i really hate him too but kinda feel hes not too bad.

lunaris+solaris in cold river, to me is worse than forking river. that said, when forking river first came out i HATED forking river to no end.

Seems pretty straight forward to me.

You aren't supposed to tank telegraphed boss slams. If a skill has a windup, you should use that time to get out of the way.

Why do people still not get this, after 10 years? Would you complain about dying to an Atziri flameblast because you stood still in the overlap region? Because that telegraph is SHORTER than the Forked River water bomb.

Just sayin.
To be fair, the aoe of the giant ball splash is A LOT larger than the ball itself which is misleading to the player. I got hit by that today, FAR from the edges of the ball, though maybe it was just because I had an increased aoe map mod.

Reminds me of slams that hit you even when you are behind the enemy. Not... great. Maybe that is something that could be looked into.
All those new map bosses came out overtuned.

They were nerfed multiple times if I recall and now we're just back at the point of power creep you vaporize them before they get to do anything. Just throw 20+mil DPS at your problems.

His one and only skillshot that can kill any well defended character in one shot is when he spawns a waterball and moves it above you than calls it down. It deals 12000-18000 cold damage. It can be easily dogged unless he is buffed with cast speed.

there are exceptions to this but most of the time when a skill or slam from an boss hits you,you have an aoe increase modifer on the map

the waterball is alwys the same size regardless of map mods, but it hit in a bigger area ofc

for slams
they have their center some distance away from the boss and with enough area increase it hits behind them

uber shaper slam is one of those failures even though you cant increase the area of effect with a mod,its always like that

another reason for being hit even though you used a movementskill is the type of movement skill you used
i.e. leap slam as a travel "duration" until you land your charr is still considered at the starting point of leap slam

The point is its a map boss not a real one, you can stand in basically everything that a map boss does :p

It isn't the only thing it does that does too much damage it is overtuned there are like 5 ones left, foundry is still a PoS too.

Map bosses are supposed to be modded too, so their values are intended to be reasonable to begin with.
As a further note, if your textures start streaming in slowly, good luck seeing anything.

Also this guy has very little windup and you are chilled or frozen all the time.

At least other telegraphed moves are on the ground, his stuff obscures the camera and just drops.

Not saying he is impossible, just that it feels bad and is overturned. But what doesn't feel bad in 3.19.
