Veiled Chaos Orb + Prefixes cannot be changed

Hi,

so I used a Veiled Chaos Orb on an item with two Prefixes and "Prefixes Cannot Be Changed" metamod. It added another Prefix and two Suffixes, with one of them beeing veiled.

Do Veiled Chaos Orbs ignore "Prefixes/Suffixes Cannot be changed" mods? Why did it add another Prefix to my item? Is this intentional behavior or a bug?

A "blank" prefix is not the same as having an actual prefix on the item. An empty slot is nothing other than an empty slot.

With 2 prefixes there is no way to guarantee a prefix with Chaos Veiled Orb. You can do that instead if you have a prefix and a suffix and want to get a veiled prefix. You need to craft multimod + prefixes cannot be changed + suffixes cannot be changed. If you use the Chaos Veiled Orb you will have a guaranteed prefix.

In your case, to get a veiled prefix you would have had better chances with Aisling in Betrayal, you need to have a tier 3 Aisling in Research and beat the Mastermind to unlock her crafting bench. It's still 50/50 but it will not fill up your prefixes.

Are you saying "cannot change prefixes" prevents T4 Aisling from adding a prefix? Because normally T4 Aisling can remove a suffix and add a prefix.

No, I am saying that you have better chances to get a veiled prefix with Aisling than with veiled chaos orb because in case you get a suffix you can block prefixes, annull and try again. With veiled chaos orb you could get a veiled prefix or suffix but will also reforge everything else and potentially give you a useless prefix and a veiled suffix.

Ok. (My impression was that OP wanted a veiled suffix and an open prefix.)
