my account connected to steam was banned when I wasn't playing it?

I was incredibly confused. When I re-downloaded PoE after a long time of not playing, I got a message saying I was banned (August 24th, the game wasn't even installed). I went to this site and sent a ban appeal simply stating that I didn't know why I was banned hoping for more information. Little did I know that was my one and only chance at a ban appeal, and now that account is dead I guess?
Since I have access to the account on the site still, I looked at the characters and stash tabs and stuff. Someone was definitely using my account. They also seemed to have made and played a higher level character than I remember, and there are items in the stash I've never seen. So I guess they got more use out of it than I did. I checked the attached email and it's clearly not mine. Anyway, that's incredibly unfair that I can't recover my account because I was confused when my account was compromised. If your Path of Exile account has been banned I would suggest submitting an appeal - if you have already done so then you will need to wait for the appeal to be reviewed; if you feel your account has been compromised please contact support@grindinggear.com with all of the relevant information in regards to this so your account can be reviewed. |
