PoM out for a league

I may be a little late to this, but I would like to see PoM ban reversed for the next league. What he did was wrong. The basis I would like to go off is Chris's image as the face of PoE.

Chris has even stated he is no longer part of every change made. Chris is the one that sits with streamers for podcasts and voices during all league videos. He is the face of PoE right now. Just like the president is the face of a country. The president doesn't go after anyone really who talks bad about them.

Did what PoM said hurt, yes. In a rage, the words of one's child can be more hurtful than anything else in the world. Does this mean this child truly feels that way? No. PoM, I am sure, understands that there would be no PoE without Chris. In the moment, it can be easy to attack someone and forget how much they have done for you. Yes, PoM said mean things about the figurehead of a company. In my honest opinion, it makes the company look bad to respond to a tantrum.

That aside, PoM is an influencer who can cause a large impact. He should be held accountable for his actions. Having him take a break would show that the company stands strong but also respects that everyone has an opinion that, when voiced appropriately, is also important.

I hope this reaches the right people because we are a dedicated community that likes to look out for each other.

Interesting.
“We are the race of flesh, We are the race of lovers.”
I don't know this streamer or what he said exactly. But you made some great points.

It's rather baffling that they have time to worry about a tantrum, while they are losing their donors over backwards decisions. Like removing ultrawide support beyond 21:9 and the many more points everyone else feels unsatisfied about.

Have you considered this is exactly why he was banned? Calling Chris the r-slur and doing nothing except ranting and making ableist slurs about his baldness plus calling for him to resign is a bad influence on both his viewers and the PoE community at large. Nothing constructive, just toxicity.

I've been on these forums for years and I've called Chris and GGG at large incompetent multiple times, but not once have I been put on probation, much less given a warning. Why? Because I explain why I feel the way I do without resorting to insults or telling staff to quit or be fired. There's no reason why PoM couldn't do the same.

If he can't explain his feelings accurately and make constructive criticism in a livestream, then maybe he should hold back, process it, and make a youtube video instead where he has all the time in the world to work it out.
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!

Ok...this is a problem.

It's not that he screamed a curse like a child in a rage and that was that. This isn't the situation.

In this one particular situation, he didn't just go off. He then doubled down later, tripled down, and just continued the attack. Knowing full well that it is completely against the ToS of the game. Also...HE'S AN ADULT, not a child. You don't get a "pass" for acting like a child when you cause intentional harm.

Rage or not, there are plenty of other players that get angry, that are actual children that play that don't do what he did. A grownup has NO RIGHT to personally attack, lose control, etc. That is the very definition of being an "adult". No matter how angry you are, it is never okay to attack.

"Person A walks into a bar and does something Person B doesn't like. Person B gets up and smashes a bottle on Person A's head, hurting them. Person B tells the police that his 'excuse' is that he got angry and did a childish thing." -nope...that's not how it works. Person B gets arrested, sued, and found guilty because that is unacceptable behavior.

I started this post by saying "In this one particular situation" because, for this dude, it isn't the only time this has happened! AND he's received warnings and temporary bans before!

Can we all stop being offended on Chris's behalf?
its entirely within the right of GGG or even Chris himself to decide that POM does not deserve a second chance and that will be that, however POM was no small content creator and there are ppl in this community who valued him despite his rather extreme personality.
Did he need a slap back to reality? yes
does the slap need to last for Eternity? Eternity is a damn long time. hence the original post
